The Courage to Live
When you look up into the skies, it’s so hard to imagine how it is so blue and the fluffy clouds so white and hanging there suspended as the fiery red-orange sun’s rays penetrate them to give us heat and light on earth millions of light-years away. In awe, we express the greatness of creation. Shall we not also give credit to the Creator?
Dear readers, some of you have now come to realize that this blog has moved us along our journey in Christ Jesus. He is the solution for humanity’s greatest problem, the consequences we are struggling with when we act on choices that go against the original design, or plan, for all creation. Yes, the sin of the world leads to death and destruction as we witness wars, famines, deadly air-born, water-born, and sexually-transmitted diseases, hideous crimes and gun violence, assault and occult. The results of humanity’s choices are spiraling downward daily.
It’s time we, who have had enough of the negativity, of the darkness in life, look up into the skies and find the courage to live. Courage is the ability to control your fear in a dangerous or difficult situation; and, to be brave and confident enough to do what you believe in. It takes courage to live in these times. It takes courage to look pass where you may be now and see a future of what God has for you who dare to be brave and confident enough to believe in His Son, Jesus Christ, the expression of His greatness He put inside each and every one of us born on earth.
Are you ready to ACCEPT THE GREATNESS IN YOU? Or, are you afraid it will make somebody else feel bad and, therefore, he or she will reject you? Then that person isn’t meant to be in your life. If that person is a family member, understand that family members are put into your life to make you stronger and to allow you to give a greater testimony about the victory you’ve won over ancestral adversity. You are powerful even beyond your own imagination. You are the workmanship, a creation, of a super-omnipotent (all-powerful) Creator, your Father in the heavens above our sharp blue skies dotted with white billowy, pillowy clouds.
Accepting who you are means destroying that lying spirit. Yes, the lying spirit exists. Read the account of the alliance of Kings Jehoshaphat and Ahab in 1 Kings 22:1-28. Then a spirit came forth and stood before the Lord, and said, ‘I will persuade him.’ The Lord said to him, ‘In what way?’ So he said, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets'. (1 Kings 22:21-22). King Ahab recognized the lying spirit in the mouth of his prophets, but still was persuaded to go out to war; even though he was told by the spirit of truth in the name of the Lord (1 Kings 22:16) that he would meet disaster.
Please do not allow yourself to be persuaded to think less of yourself. Of course, there is humility. There is also stupidity. The lying spirit doesn’t work alone; it, too, has a whole family whose members are called jealousy, pride, selfishness, hatred, dissension (those who like to knock people’s heads together causing mistrust and confusion while they watch as “innocent” doves). Their genealogy can be found in Galatians 5:19-21.
The lying spirit can convince you that your skin colour makes your mind inferior; that your lack of money can never get you into the top schools; that your being a “girl” cannot allow you to be a great ‘anything’: doctor, lawyer, even ball player; that your being a “boy” makes you have to prove your manhood by having sex with as many “others” as you can. The current vortex around sexual identity has escalated into crises from such a destructive lie!
All these lies can persuade and convince, and sound like truth, moving you to wrap your birthright—your holiness and your greatness—in a nice multi-coloured package and willingly hand-deliver it into Satan’s open hand. The devil, with demonic (dark) powers, doesn’t force you to do anything. He uses the lying spirit to make you willingly give what is precious in you away into his possession. If man can acknowledge and even go so far into demon possession and worship, why is there such intense rejection of the existence of a holy power full of glorious light? Oh how weak without the Lord Jesus we are!
In Luke 10:19, the Lord has confirmed that I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Our Lord backs His Word in Isaiah 54:17: No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. And their righteousness is from Me.
The heritage of the servants of the Lord is called your birthright. From our last conversation, birthright is a particular right of possession or privilege a person has from birth. At your first birth, God put His greatness in you; and holiness is the greatest power in the universe because it is the name of God’s super-omnipotence. At your re-birth (when you allowed Jesus to rule your heart and were spiritually born again), God added the righteousness of Jesus into you. Wow! YOU GOT A DOUBLE PORTION OF GREATNESS IN YOU! This is your power, your authority, your weapon that can destroy any power of the enemy, especially that lying spirit.
So now the choice is yours. Will you allow yourself to be controlled by the lies that belittle you causing you to feel not good enough to live victoriously and do great exploits and reject the gifts of God in you? Or, will you accept the beauty of holiness, the intellect, the strength, the talent that’s inside of you, believing that Jesus in you makes you right with God and allows you to be alright with yourself and throw that lying spirit out of your house forever?
Be courageous because it takes courage to crush and cancel that lying spirit and live as victorious Christians inside a loving and long-lasting relationship with God and with others who walk in His light with you. You are special and one-of-a-kind. There’s nobody like you, and you deserve to cultivate and enjoy godly relationships with yourself first and with others of like mind in Christ. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ grant us His favour, His peace and His joy while we patiently allow Him to mold us back into His original spectacular image. Amen.
